| Hello Prelude lovers,
My name is Lorezo, I am from Lithuania, and I have some problems with laws in my home country. This is situation: I have swapped f20a to h22a5, together with breaks gearbox exaust/intel ect. the problem is that here in Lithuania I can not legally do that, because power difference is more then 30%, and I can't get technical inspection certification. So I thought maybe in Latvia I can possibly registrate my engine swap. Does anyone knows is it possible? maybe someone have done it lately? Thank You for Your help. Regards, Lorenzo

| If the engine is from the same car, there is no problem to register it.

| A complicated situation. First of all you would have to register it in Latvia, pass the tehnical inspection and pay the road tax.
After, i supose, you could register it again in Lithuania. But this whole thing won't be cheap.
About you'r certification in Lithuania. What if you disabled the VTEC system? Theoreticaly you would have almost the same power output as the f20a. Afterwards you could enable the VTEC again.

| Technical inspection You mean the one we have to pass every 2 years? Certification in Lithuania is restricted if differences in hp power is more then 30% and volume (size) is more then 20%. If I am ok with these 2 conditions I have to get a list of parts witch I have to change, from Honda dealer. And then I can try to get certificate. During the certification they are not measuring the power, just looking to engine code and specification of the engine. I was thinking about disabling vtec, or using JDM ECU with speed limit (180km/h) unfortunately this is not a option for them. So if I go to Latvia I can registrate my car there, with my new engine inside without any certifications?

| No certifications needed We need them only if you swap the engine from a different car, and it has other mounting places.
